I wonder if anyone with Ancestry could possibly look to see if the image is available for the above marriage in Sheffield. Ethel was a widow but would like to know had John been married before? On FMP there is no image and his name is given as Jack.
Hi, I don`t know if this helps but sometimes if a man was called John, he would be known as Jack by his friends. My grandfather was called John, but he was called Jack by friends and family. This confused a second cousin of mine who had found a Jack with the same surname and put my grandfather in the wrong place in a family of 11 siblings.
