Doncaster Records

G'day everyone

Are records for the churches in Doncaster on this website as well? If not, where can I find them please?

I've got some family who were born in Bamburgh around Doncaster so wanting to verify their births, deaths and marriages.

I use Ancestry and Family Search. On Family Search a lot of the records for Sheffield and surrounds is held by the Borthwick Institute who charge for searching, downloading documents etc. Ideally I'd like to avoid them.

cheers
Leisa

Re: Doncaster Records

Leisa,
The simple answer is we do not have parish records for Doncaster. The clue is in our name which is Sheffield Indexers.
You could try FMP which offers a free trial, and once you have an account with them you will have it forever even if you do not pay a subscription. That means you can always use it, free of charge, to see if your relatives are there. Then it is just a matter of waiting for one of their frequent free periods eg Mother’s Day etc to get to the original records.
Dave

PS Bamburgh is in Northumberland. Barnburgh is in Doncaster

Re: Doncaster Records

I thought that Dave regarding the places. Leisa who are you looking for I've got a very old cd with some Doncaster parishes on for burials. Can't promise the name you want are on there but can check for you

G'day John

Thank you. I will be in touch.

Dave - I realise the clue is in the title but wasn't sure whether Doncaster was considered part of Sheffield ie a suburb of the town. Hence my question.

cheers
