Re: Sidney Munro, Munroe

Hello,

I have done a little bit of digging and I think I may have found Sidney. There is only one birth registered around 1899 for a Sidney Munro in Sheffield. The birth register gives his mothers maiden name as Bushling. I found the marriage record for his parents Walter Munroe and Emma Bushling in Lambeth in London in 1897. Walter was a Music Hall agent and Emma was an actress. Walter was born in Huddersfield and Emma was born in Sevenoaks in Kent.
On the 1901 census the couple are shown as visitors staying at the Kensington Theatre at South Place in London. Also with them is their son Sydney who is shown as being born in Attercliffe in Sheffield.
Sydney was baptized in Darnall (not far from Attercliffe) on the 21st of June 1899. His baptism record states that his father was a music hall manager.
In 1911 Sydney was boarding in Bath in Somerset in the house of Maria Bryant. He was listed as being at school. I then found him listed in the national school records for Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales. In this document it does state his father as Walter Munro.

All you would need to prove this is to purchase the marriage certificate of Sidney and Catherine and this should provide the link.

Regards
Rich
