I know this is a long shot due to the common name but I'm unable to trace Thomas after 1901.
He was born in Queen's County Ireland 1847.
He married Mary Ann Ryan 1867 Chorlton Lancashire.
They lived in Openshaw 1871 then Chorlton 1881.
Moved to Sheffield by 1891. Lived at 127 Greystock St with son Robert b 1874 and Daughter Jenny (Jane) b 1882. Name transcribed as HALLAND???? Other children still in Chorlton.
1896 married Sarah Ann Haykin widowed mother in law of his son Robert.
1901 lived at 164 Greystock St.
Sarah and some of her children are still living in Greystock street in 1911 and 1921 but Thomas isn't with them.
I expect he left Sarah and moved elsewhere but I can't find him! Hoping someone can help.
Not sure if this is him.

Hi Jenny,
There is a death reg: in Doncaster..March qtr of 1917..for Thomas Allen age 70 (B:1847..??)
Sarah Ann Allen death record on this site states she was a widow at her death in 1928.
1921 Thomas Allen born 1842 (79) living as a boarder in Chorlton with James McCall and family, James was aged 29 and a Blacksmith Striker but was born in Sheffield he was married to someone called Esther born in Manchester.
It says that he was born in Dublin and was widowed
You say that his wife states she was married in 1921 so therefore unsure if what I have found is your but might be worth looking at.
