Harry Ward Timperley - WW1 service records

After the success of finding Hannah Timperley's burial place, thought I'd try to knock down some more brick walls.
Harry was Hannah's youngest son, born in Sheffield 28/05/1900. His father was Henry WARD (Hannah & Henry were not officially married.) Hannah's previous husband (George William Timperley) was not living with them at the time of Harry's birth. Family's address (& Hannah's boarding house at that time) was 43 Lyons St.
Harry signed up to KOYLI on his 18th birthday, service # 73092 & assigned to the 2/4 Battalion. I can find no further war service info after that - would love to know what could be found! e.g. did he go to France (one of his older half-brothers did & was killed there)?

Re: Harry Ward Timperley - WW1 service records

There is no WW1 medal card for him. To qualify for one he would have needed to arrive in a theatre of war on or before 11 Nov 1918. Clearly he did not do that.
Conscription was introduced in 1916 so a person reaching his 18th birthday on 28th May 1918 would be called up on that day. Clearly he did not complete his training and travel abroad before the war ended so he did not fight in France.

Many thanks for that, Dave. Any idea where he may have been training during 1918?
