Who do I need to contact regarding two gravestones in Norton Cemetery I cannot find any information in the Cemetery listings

We have transcribed Norton and there is a Map of the Cemetery on the Burial page in the header.

Thats what we have covered anything more you would have to contact City Road Cemetery Bereavement Services.

Who are you looking for and what year were they buried?

I am looking for graves:- Robert Osbourne died age 49/50 Grave 48 Sec XA consecrated ground

I am also looking for the grave of Frank Wright silversmith grave 8521 Sec J consecrated ground Abbey Lane.

In the burials section over to your left see:
Robert OSBORNE (age 50) buried 19th Sept/1921 at Norton Cemetery, grave 48, sect:XA
and
Frank WRIGHT (Retired age 70) buried July 2/1947, Abbey Lane Cemetery, grave 8521, section J.
Both graves in consecrated ground.

Hope these are your rellies and it helps you locate them.

if the weather improves this week ie gets a bit warmer, I may be able to go and check these out for you. can't promise but I shall do my best.

Thank you that would be great, only I don't live in Sheffield now so very difficult to research graves.

Just been to Abbey Lane and yes there was a headstone for Frank Wright and I have taken a couple of photographs. will try and get to Norton lane (Derbyshire Lane) sometime soon but traffic around there just now was horrendous so I gave up.

When I have checked out Derbyshire I will email you the info.


In Loving memory of Mary Elizabeth Wright who departed this life Nov 9 1946 aged 68 years also Frank Wright husband of the above departed this life June 27 1947 aged 70 years.

Just been to Derbyshire Lane Cemetery, there is no headstone for this grave unless its pne laid flat and buried under the turf but it doesn't look like it to me.
