I believe this is John Rutter baptised at Candlesby 24 January 1679/80. His parents were John and Ann(e). John the father was churchwarden at Candlesby, signing the Bishops Transcripts between 1682 and 1689. John, the churchwarden was in turn likely to have been the son of John Rutter (baptised at Burgh le Marsh 28 December 1634) and his wife Elizabeth nee Rabsdaile. John & Elizabeth married at Burgh le Marsh 27 May 1630. I believe the early John is probably the one excommunicated from Burgh on 27 December 1663.
Peter interesting thank you. I shall have to dig my notes out again and post where the line goes. The if I remember a rutter marries a Charlotte willows but will recheck

I believe parents of joshua are jasper and ? jasper I think married 3 times
Parents of jasper are john and ann. Again needn't update my notes as just seen I've left a complete generation out ie but hey will give me something to do during this cold snap. Thanks for re igniting the flame on this.
I've not found any other info on the marriage of John Rutter & Ann so the Wisbeach marriage is a possibility.
I believe Mary Tointon was Joshua's second wife. I've got the marriage as being 2 January 1757 at Scremby. His first marriage was to Faith Rutter 1 May 1755 at Wainfleet. Faith was a daughter of Jasper Rutter and Eleanor Carrington. I also have a 3rd marriage for Joshua: to Esther Moody at Candlesby 27 June 1779.
DO you have access to Ancestry? The Rutters are on our tree at https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/tree/107901754?cfpid=102039871769
I seem to recall seeing Evison / Avison burials in Hundleby churchyard.
I don't subscribe to ancestry or have I used a free trial I seem to remember someone gave me access to their tree years ago. Do you agree though that joshua and jasper were brothers.
Ps remove the link regarding ancestry. Not allowed on forum.
I shall send you an email in the week. Regarding joshua born 1735 I have his parents as joshua born 1684 and eleanor Wells eleanor was his second wife. If you use family free software that uses gedvom files I could send you what I have
I worked out that the Joshua who married Eleanor Wells was born about 1697. My reasoning was based on the will of his father, John, made in 1718 which implied that Joshua was still under the age of 21. I've got the place & date of his marriage to Eleanor as 29 November 1731 at Bennington and his previous marriage to Elizabeth Taylor at Orby on 27 November 1727.
John and Ann had an earlier Joshua who was buried in 1692.
Hadn't realised that about joshua. That seems to make sense then about his late marriage dates. It's ages since I touched the rutter line and alot more info is now on line. I shall check the death year for joshua and see what it says.
