The marriage shown on this site of William Robinson to Nellie Jackson 17th July 1910 is not my William. William's father was John James and not William as shown on that marriage entry.
Hi John and thanks for your reply
This situation is going to take some sorting out.
Unfortunately it will be to my satisfaction only, with My Mom, her sister and 2 brothers long gone !

Good evening Dave
After reading your message, confusion is the word !
You are of course correct with my grandfathers d of b. The d of b for his brother conflicts with what I have worked out from his burial record on this site i.e. died 1937 age 71
The marriage of John Robinson to Mary Ann Boulding, they are my Ggrandparents
The marriage location of Liverpool for John to Sarah Convey is relevant because my Mom told me that Uncle William as she referred to him moved to Liverpool
You quote he died in Liverpool in 1941
From this site again, I have him dying in Sheffield in 1937 and buried in Norton Cemetery in Sheffield
Think i will have to go into a dark room and lay down for a while ( ha ha )
Going to go back to all the information I have and get back to you
On the burial section of this site there is a Nellie Robinson wife of William age 47 buried in the same grave as her husband i.e. Norton No 28 Sec SA
Nellie died at 38 Heeley Green. As i commented in my post of Nov 29th 10-14 pm, that was the
address of my grandmother Lily Robinson nee Dale when she married.
I therefore assumed that there was a family connection i.e William the brother of my grandfather Thomas with his wife Nellie
Could it be and it appears likely that we are talking about 2 separate Robinson families !
Just looking through my Robison information
In the 1891 census at 229 Allen Street in Sheffield
William is shown aged 4 months
This is more than good evidence of the year of birth of William
Roger, the marriage cert for William Robinson b 1866 who married Nelly Smith is available on line. He declares his father as Charles. That William is not the brother of your Thomas.
THE 1891 Census in Abbeydale Road has John Robinson (scale cutter) and his wife Mary Ann with many children including Thomas b 1873 and William b 1871.
The GRO index shows all the children mmn Bolden and the marriage of John Robinson to Mary Ann Boulding is available on line. Their son born in 1871 was actually John William.
JOHN William, cutler, married twice and both certs are available on line. The first in 1891 Sheffield to AnnHansen. His father declared as John, a scale cutter.
The second in 1902 West Derby, John William b1870 a cutler, widower, married Sarah Ellen Convey, spinster. JOHN WILLIAMS father was John, A Scale cutter. BY 1911 CENSUS THEY HAD 5 CHILDREN, ALL CONFIRMED ON gro mmn Convey and John William was born Sheffield.
Dave
PS John W Robinson died 1941 Liverpool S age 70. ON 1939 register he is alone in Liverpool and gives birthday as 10 Dec 1871. Actually he was a year out. It was 1870, making him 4 months old at 1871 census. His birth reg was in March 1871.
Dave
Hi Dave and many thanks for your help, more than I thought and a mystery cleared.
However I am still confused by the existence of the other William and his wife Nellie and the fact that Nellie died at 38 Heeley Green the home of my grandmother Lily when she married
