Obama for President

Will he be President one day?
We will see on polling day.

Will pastor Wright keep him away?
With his ways and beliefs will he display?

He wants to cut our military back
What will happen in case of an attack?

Will we have to pick up our guns?
And fight back.

Or just stand by and loose everything

Will Hillary make it?
I don’t think so

You all get ready for the big show
It’s all up in the air.. Who knows?

McCain He’s the other one
Will he be outdone?

The next few years
We all may be mad at ours peers

But I guess we will just have to wait and see
Who our next President will be

Will American still be FREE?
Were just have to wait and see.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Perspective

“Here’s the rain, what a pain,” says the boring crowd.
“Glorious rain, come again,” the young girl says aloud.
Sunshine or rain, winter or spring,
If your heart is enslaved
It won’t mean a thing.
But, if your heart is alive, and your spirit is free,
There’s beauty and treasure in most things that you see.
So wake up each day with the hope in your heart
That before the day’s gone, and the light fades to dark,
Someone’s load will be lightened by the hand you extend,
And your spirit will lift from the words of a friend.
That’s life—one day rain, one day sun,
But the end is defined by the good you have done.

The Springtime of Youth

The Springtime of Youth

The springtime of youth
like a breath of fresh air
sweet and innocent
blossums with fragrant
perfumes of love
first love
heart undefended
like a flower
brilliant but for
a moment...
for the petals
will soon fall
and leave a remnant
of what was once

Twisted Pine (1990)

For all our years together now
to me you truly say
I've loved you through the eighteen years
each twist along the way

But in your slowly graying head
confusion takes the lead
Something calls you urgently
to free yourself from me

"There's so much unexperienced
and so very little time!
Why not soar with the sequoias
than try to grow a twisted pine?"

We once lived snug within the woods
and I knew such a tree
Its stark uniqueness on the path
struck wonderment in me

'Though small and twisted were its limbs
and stunted from the start,
it spoke to me of courage
in adversity, strong heart!

As every little twist and turn
gave it more strength in store,
weaving through each other's weakness
made us stronger than before

But are we strong enough for this?
the woodsman bears an ax
Or is that just some pruning shears
he has there in his pack?

BACK IN TIME

I was born back in the hill of West Virginia
Where the water runs clear… year around
Where the air is fresh… As the morning dew
I long to go back to be with you.

I remember when…I was growing up
Walking the mountains… All alone
Feeling of freedom where every I go wo wo wo

I want go back to where I came from
I want take a step… back in time

Where the grass is green
And the air is clean
Where the rivers run free
Taking a step… back in time.

I long for the piece… and quite
Of a dark still night
The only sound is the wind …Whipping threw the trees

Just you and me
Holding hands
Looking down… upon the land.

Where the grass is green
And the air is clean
Where the rivers run free

Taking a step… back in time.
Taking a step …back in time
Iam taking a step back in time..Ia ia ia ia ia ia

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

RAVEN, I hope you enjoy this essay (sorry its so long) but I truly hope you like it. I wrote it last year for an English class and it is about mine and my friend's experiences with dating in Pocahontas County. (See if you have any ideas of whom the "Particulars" could be)

RURAL DATING; A RETROSPECT

Dating is an important step in social structure to a girl. You learn to be confident and assertive, accept denial when you must & use manners and time management to end up at the Little General Parking lot eating chips and Slim Jims ten minutes before curfew. This is the cruel truth of dating, especially in a rural area. You often allow yourself to settle for less than perfect when your options become limited. I will explain the typical daters their ideas of a good time and how they affect this community. Please note, I write this from personal experience and/or the experiences of those close to me.

Starting off, I must give credit to the area tour guide “The Local Yokel.” He definitely knows his way around the county or a chaperone. The Local Yokel has charmed countless girls with stories of primitive folklore, harrowing tails of hunting mishaps and tall fish tails all while avoiding a tear in the seat of his tight, tapered jeans. He is not much for going out unless it involves you paying the bill. Unfortunately, his idea of a job is looking for a new girl or trying to outsmart an old one.

Next, we find and cannot avoid “The Waste of Space.” The name may seem a bit harsh but it is honestly accurate. He is very attractive and is a favorite of many local girls but his personality could not make more adjustments if his ego was his personal chiropractor. He is goal setter. He likes to make you or whatever you have the goal and he will sit, just “wasting space” until he scores. You can find him with his friend “Deep Pockets (we’ll discuss him later) or anywhere that a pretty girl can be found. He does not believe in the structured idea of dating. Apparently, he has been hurt too many times in the past to get emotionally involved. On the other hand, this could be just a ploy to gain sympathy. He will come to your house. He loves home cooked meals and he may even do your dishes but do not trust this pretend domestication for he is crafty. You may find that you are the dessert and he is the only one with a spoon. Therefore, it is best to leave him at what he does best being a Waste of Space.

Now we come to “The Super Freak,” no Christian community is complete without one. You will find him standing on the street somewhere. If there were a cemetery in the middle of town, you would find him there. That would be a dramatic stage for his costume selection. Another place he may hide is under the bridge, where the dank darkness makes him feel less alive. He does not speak much but when he does, his words are well chosen and insightful. Another cause for silence is his stark white make-up and head to toe black uniform. His Gothic-minded intensions cannot outshine his gentle nature or fondness for poetry. He is virtually harmless unless of course you get close enough to hear his “tortured soul screaming!” A night out with him (he definitely prefers the darkness) involves a lot of loud depressing music and liquor is probably necessary. How can he stand you if he can hardly stand himself? On the other hand, you may need the alcohol to stand the music and the emotional disdain.

I mentioned “Deep Pockets” earlier. His utter contempt for tact or style is actually comical. He has convinced himself as well as his redneck entourage that a personality is not necessary when you have money. Unfortunately, you cannot buy personalities because if you could he would have the biggest and shiniest one in town. He likes to ride around with the music and his ego blaring, tracking down a girl or a good time. A date with him can be a good time. He will take you to a nice restaurant. He will wine and dine you and maybe even take you to a club for cocktails and a spin on the dance floor. He loves to have fun and he will do his best to help you have fun too. You must be prepared to hear about him and his money, the entire time you are around him.

My last example of a rural dating option is “The Shredder.” He is a staple of the dating scene in this area since we are very close to a ski resort. He is not to be confused with, “The Poser,” who is very similar but has no skills when it comes to actually getting on the ski slopes. The Shredder is always ready to snowboard or ski. He was born to enjoy the snow and when the snow is gone, he will still be riding down the slopes. Only he will be riding a mountain bike and charging just as hard. His endless information of trail maps and random trivia make for great conversation while riding the ski lift back to the top of the slope. Any girl would be happy to take a lesson from him even if they do not need one. He is content just kicking back and enjoying the people around him but I must warn you about the possibilities if a party is in the works. The Shredder has a reputation for getting a little belligerent after a few drinks, especially when more than one of his kind is involved. Therefore, if you decide, you want to keep The Shredder as a boyfriend, please look into a good health insurance plan for him and yourself. Because it is amazing, what looks like fun and what you are willing to try after a few beers maybe naked snow angels or midnight cliff diving, even sliding down hand- rails on lunch trays?

I have learned that no one ever has to settle for anyone or anything that is not what he or she would prefer. As you can see, there are a few options in this area and a few were dates that I chose to accept. The only difference between a larger city and this rural town is that there are more Deep Pockets and Super Freaks. (Perhaps living with limited “options” it is not so bad after all.) People move here all the time to work for the summer or winter season. Some of these “Imports” may stay adding a few new choices to our “Man-u” and besides, there is always the option to travel.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Snow Goddess I absolutely loved it!
Yes I am pretty sure I know just about every one of those dates!
Since I know all the boys around this area.
I know how they act, I hear all the stories, besides they don't call me momma Jen for nothing now do they????
I am the all seeing and KNOWING EYE!
I must say your description is marvelous!
Thanks for the wonderful addition to my section!
Lets hope the guys aren't looking because I am sure they can pick themselves out? Or can't they?

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Good one snow goddess. Raven, this is the all time best thread on etater. There is some real talent out there. I read it every day.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Thanks Agitator I would have to agree! I love poetry it is an art. Its one's way to express something deep inside, a way to release tension, to vent for what ever reason.

I also thought it would break up the chaos from the daily things on Etater that "some" might not find enjoying.

Please don't feel limited to place only poetry here you may also place short stories as well. I have some myself, It is just a matter of typing them LOL!!!!

Blessings~~RaVeN~~

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

I hope we all remember this lovely poem at the polls tomorrow!!

Pocahontas Politics, what are we all to do?
Here a sheriff, there a sheriff, any ole' boy will do.

But we have a choice, a mighty choice for you.
Doshia Webb for Sheriff. She is honest, fair and true.

She caught the robber in the creek and fished there with our kids.
Doshia can't abide those drugs, and wants them all to rid.

Though the crime be terrifying, she will do her best.
No matter what your name, for YOU the star shines on her chest.

So when you say - Pocahontas, you won't hang your head in shame.
For Doshia will be our Sheriff, and not Sheriff just in name.

Doshia will come to your town, when crime there rears its head
Even if your home is far away, where the Greenbrier's birth is fed.

Doshia listens to your concerns and to you lends her ear.
So if you want some change, she will hear you, NEVER FEAR.

Doshia fights for truth and justice, for the big man and the small.
She won't sweep it under the carpet if you have broke the law.

We know her and we love her for all she has done for us
Now is the time to show her and in her put our trust.

Doshia Webb for Sheriff is the only way to go
For she is the people's Sheriff and the criminal's worse foe.

A man walked the Earth
Meant so much to so many.

Now that he is gone memories like a river
They keep on flowing.

On his Birthday a meal was fixed to suit a King
All was prepared under an apron string.

And on his birthday every year
We will get together in his honor.

Tall tales at deer camp would unfold
The memories are worth more than gold.

He knew ever foot of the mountains he roamed
Beaver Lick Mountain he called his Home

From Chestnut Ridge to Cold Spring
Listing for them turkey to sing.

On a cold clear morning on opening day
It just won’t be the same.

This is old Charley and it’s my time to whoop it up
You see it’s my time to drink out of the golden cup.

So remember me as often as you can
I am still a mountain man

And tomorrow we are heading to Angle Lake to spend the day
Up here we don’t work its all play.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

I think of all I didnt say
and regret some things that I did.
I kick myself in shame for times
I'd turned around and fled.
Now she's gone and I hope and pray,
that she knows how much I love her
I carry her with me in my heart
and place no one above her.
I see her in my childrens eyes
and hear her in their laughter.
My mom was an angel in life, long before God took her to heaven.
But for so long I was bitter at him,
She was only forty seven.
But now I see he needed her there
although I ache to see her.
Im blessed to feel her here with me
my angel that still guides me.

THE FLOUR SACK

BY COLLEEN B. HUBERT

IN THAT LONG AGO TIME WHEN THINGS WERE SAVED,
WHEN ROADS WERE GRAVELED AND BARRELS WERE STAVED,
WHEN WORN-OUT CLOTHING WAS USED AS RAGS,
AND THERE WERE NO PLASTIC WRAP OR BAGS,
AND THE WELL AND THE PUMP WAS WAY OUT BACK,
A VERSATILE ITEM, WAS THE FLOUR SACK.

PILLSBURY'S BEST, MOTHER'S AND GOLD MEDAL, TOO
STAMPED THEIR NAMES PROUDLY IN PURPLE AND BLUE.
THE STRING SEWN ON TOP WAS PULLED AND KEPT;
THE FLOUR EMPTIED AND SPILLS WERE SWEPT.
THE BAG WAS FOLDED AND STORED IN A SACK
THAT DURABLE, PRACTICAL FLOUR SACK.

THE SACK COULD BE FILLED WITH FEATHER AND DOWN,
FOR A PILLOW, OR T'WOULD MAKE A SLEEPING GOWN.
IT COULD CARRY A BOOK AND BE A SCHOOL BAG,
OR BECOME A MAIL SACK SLUNG OVER A NAG.
IT MADE A VERY CONVENIENT PACK,
THAT ADAPTABLE, COTTON FLOUR SACK.

BLEACHED AND SEWN, IT WAS DUTIFULLY WORN
AS BIBS, DIAPERS, OR KERCHIEF ADORNED.
IT WAS MADE INTO SKIRTS, BLOUSES AND SLIPS
AND MOM BRAIDED RUGS FROM ONE HUNDRED STRIPS.
SHE MADE RUFFLED CURTAINS FOR THE HOUSE OR SHACK,
FROM THAT HUMBLE BUT TREASURED FLOUR SACK!

AS A STRAINER FOR MILK OR APPLE JUICE,
TO WAVE MEN IN, IT WAS A VERY GOOD USE,
AS A SLING FOR A SPRAINED WRIST OR A BREAK,
TO HELP MOTHER ROLL UP A JELLY CAKE,
AS A WINDOW SHADE OR TO STUFF A CRACK,
WE USED A STURDY, COMMON FLOUR SACK!

AS DISH TOWELS, EMBROIDERED OR NOT,
THEY COVERED UP DOUGH, HELPED PASS PANS SO HOT
TIED UP DISHES FOR NEIGHBORS IN NEED,
AND FOR MEN OUT IN THE FIELD TO SEED.
THEY DRIED DISHES FROM PAN, NOT RACK
THAT ABSORBENT, HANDY FLOUR SACK!

WE POLISHED AND CLEANED STOVE AND TABLE,
SCOURED AND SCRUBBED FROM CELLAR TO GABLE,
WE DUSTED THE BUREAU AND OAK BED POST,
MADE COSTUMES FOR OCTOBER (A SCARY GHOST)
AND A PARACHUTE FOR A CAT NAMED JACK.
FROM THAT LOWLY, USEFUL OLD FLOUR SACK!

SO NOW MY FRIENDS, WHEN THEY ASK YOU
AS CURIOUS YOUNGSTERS OFTEN DO,
"BEFORE PLASTIC WRAP, ELMERS GLUE
AND PAPER TOWELS, WHAT DID YOU DO?"
TELL THEM LOUDLY AND WITH PRIDE DON'T LACK,
"GRANDMOTHER HAD THAT WONDERFUL FLOUR SACK!"

A Prayer for Womanhood
~Grace Noll Crowell~
1934

God, give each true good woman
Her own small house to keep,
No heart should ache with longing,
No hurt should go too deep.....
Grant her age-old desire:
A house to love and sweep.
Give her a man beside her,
A kind man, and a true,
And let them work together
And love, a lifetime through,
And let her mother children
As gentle women do.
Give her a shelf for dishes,
And a shining box for bread,
A white cloth for her table,
And a white spread for her bed,
A shaded lamp at nightfall,
And a row of books much read.
God, let her work with laughter,
And let her rest with sleep.
No life can truly offer
A peace more sure and deep....
God, give each true woman
Her own small house to keep.

The Spirit Of The Home
by Edgar A. Guest

Dishes to wash and clothes to mend,

And always another meal to plan,

Never the tasks of a mother end

And Oh, so early her day began!

Floors to sweep and the pies to bake,

And chairs to dust and the beds to make.

Oh, the home is fair when you come at night
And the meal is good and the children merry
And the kettle sings in its glad delight
And the mother smiles in her gentle way:
so great her love that you seldom see
or catch a hint of the drudgery.

Home, you say when the day is done,

Home to comfort and peace and rest.

Home where the children romp and run-

There is the place that you love the best!

Yet what would the home be like if you

Had all of its endless tasks to do?

Would it be home if she were not there,

Brave and gentle and fond and true?

Could you so fragrant a meal prepare?

Could you the numberless duties do?

What were the home that you love so much,

Lacking her presence and gracious touch?

She is the spirit of all that's fair

She is the home you think you build:

She is the beauty you dream of there;

She is the laughter with which it's filled-

She, with her love and her gentle smile,

Is all that maketh the home worth while.

ON THE MOUNTAIN TOP

On the mountain top
I stand and gaze.

Of all the beauty that surround us
Not a sound of humans around.

Just the sounds of nature
Wrap around me.

I n the distance
A lone eagle rides the air current.

White clouds drifting overhead
A gentle breeze blowing.

The grass looks like an ocean
Gentle waving back and forth.

For a few moments
All the stress is removed from my body.

All the up and downs
In my life is removed

Nothing but peace and quite
Surrounds me.

From here on the mountain top
As I gaze I feel security.

The houses and barns look so small
Just like the problems of the world should be.

entrenched upon

kiss the sky of
deepest summer

WHIZZIN AND POOTIN

Back in the town where I was a kid,
Grown men stood on the corner,
That's what they did,
On Friday night and Saturday night too,
I guess there wasn't much else to do,

Peter B. Whizzin,
That was his name,
Pitching pennies,
That was his game,
Pitchin' those pennies,
Up against the wall,
Be the closest one,
You win it all,

Buddy B. Pootin,
Was an old blowhard,
Always pitchin' pennies,
Never touched cards,
He made his fortune,
On Third and Main,
Never worked an honest day,
Always playin' a game,

When Dad talked about em',
He said what a shame,
Whizzin and Pootin on the corner,
Grown men playin' a game,

Those two on the corner,
All the time,
I had a mental picture,
Couldn't change my mind,

Whizzin and Pootin,
That's what I thought they did,
Words make strange mental pictures,
Back when I was a kid,

Whizzin and Pootin,
Grown men playin' a game,
When Dad talked about em',
He said what a shame.

She sighed_---
To her math notepad, covered with graphs, fractions, formulas, she said silently
"If the guy were not so arrogant, so comfortable with his esoteric numbers, his PHD in math
I could ask a hundred questions , I could ask but not answer a single one.My math anxiety would see to that.I wonder how he does with iambic pentameter."

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

I want to share this with everyone, in our country and county's time of conflict and mis-harmony we should be open to ideas of friendship and understanding instead of hasty harsh judgments and critical indifference. Lao Tzu, a philosopher from WAAAAAAAY back expressed his feelings of loyalty in these simple yet beautiful words...
"When people lost sight of the way to live
Came codes of love and honestly,
Learning came, charity came,
Hypocrisy took charge;
When differences weakened family ties
Came benevolent fathers and dutiful sons;
And when lands were disrupted and misgoverned
Came ministers commended as loyal."

I wish you, all, peace and happy lovin'!!!!!!

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

REFLECTION

Who is that freak, that oddity?
So strange, profound insanity;
They stare with ease
Without offering please…
While in fact, they seam delicately free.

The others retreat, shuffling feet;
Astounding, so boldly the smile.
So few are returned
Whose truly concerned…
For this dance is how differences meet.

Wondering why, with a gesture’s deny
Eyes trapped by possession, divine.
Not trusting, no waiver
Obsessing to savor,
Protesting; our reasons to shine.

Fear unexpressed, our perpetual test,
Responses, give chance for infection.
Perfecting each breathe,
Our souls conquering death,
Through their beautiful blessed reflection.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Love is so very special
Yet can make you feel so lost
It can arrive just like the springtime
And melt away like morning frost

You must find ways to nurture
Always grow your love with care
Never ever take for granted
The love that you both share

Mistakes are bound to happen
You may hurt each other's heart
Yet don't give up to easily
It will tear your love apart

Love resembles a bright flame
That lights a dark starry night
Never ever let this flame burn down
Rekindle with all your might

Take a moment every day
Look deep into each other's eyes
Never hesitate to show affection
Small gestures will keep a love alive

Talk openly about your feelings
Take time to show that you care
Treasure each and every moment
Because to find true love is rare

Re: Poets Corner

The Soldier Boy The song, "God Bless America", by many has been sung. The song is for the soldier boy, who stands behind the gun. So brave, and strong they give their lives to make America free. To give each one their human rights with love, and liberty. each night they read the bible, the verses they learn well. Some brave will live in heaven, and some will live in h***. What made America what it is today, so full of pride, and joy. America was made a better place from the lives of the Soldier Boy.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
as I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
who made me sputter and gasp--
the thieves, the liars, the sinners,
the alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
was rotting away in hell,
was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
looking incredibly
well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why's everyone so quiet,
so somber? Give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' said He, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

The Sweetest Gift-Jewelry loses its luster Flowers die the next day Candy just gets eaten Cards get thrown away Money just gets wasted Watches stop after a while Cars always need fixing Clothing goes out of style But you've given me the sweetest gift That anyone could dream of The gift that lasts forever The gift of your precious love So my dear, remember And know this to be true:You've given me so much Just by you.

Cry-You hide behind your smile,But your eyes tell more than you'll ever know. You laugh to help fight away the tears That lay in the wings, ready to fall. You hide your pain so well,I am almost in awe of you.You hold your head up and smile,Even with the weight of the world on your back. Please cry,Just once so i can wipe the tears from your face.Cry,so that there will be no more hurt in your eyes.Cry,cry away all the pain others have caused you.The mask you wear is starting to truly fade away,And the real you is emerging. You are sensitive and caring Is sensitive not cool?Is that why you cant bear To let others know how you feel? Please cry,if not to let the pain go ,Cry,so you can be yourelf.

On The Wings Of Hope-Sending my warmest thoughts Here I am writing once again Hoping I can lift your spirits Or perhaps ease your pain Saved is the place in my heart That you can always depend Given for all the tomorrows Where love shall never end I am writing these words today Because I am thinking of you As I send my heart to yours With love timeless and true Set aside i this place for you Far across the distant shores Heart on the wings of hope Where my love forever soars.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

In Dreams-I saw you last night I wonder who you are I know it's not right Loving you from afar I'm not sure what to do I don't know what to say I only know that I want you I must find a way My lips long to kiss you My arms need you to hold I know what I must do But dare I be so bold I have loved you forever Or that's how it seems But we are only together At night in my dreams I can't fight this feeling It burns like a flame My passion is reeling As I call out your name When the dark becomes light I know you'll be gone But when my dreams take flight Our love will go on.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Your Love-Your love is like the sun,Always burning Always bright. It wraps me up,safe and warm When I am cold at night. It is brighter Than the moon itself,And shines without ceasing. It lights up an entire room When darknes 'round is creeping. It brings me up When I am down,And never lets me fear.Comforts me in times of sadness.Wipes away every falling tear.It catches me whenever I fall,And strengths me when I'm weak.Knows exactly whats on my mind Without me haing to speak.Your love is something I will never forget No matter what comes my way .I'll always remember The one thing that's true Is the love that is shared Between me and you.

Lover's Chant--I wish I may,I wish I might,To share this wonderful feeling so right, To let you know just how I care,May not a single second spare...I wish I may,I wish I might,To kiss your sweet lips on the sight,Cherishing the very taste,May not a single second waste... I wish I may,I wish I might,To hold your elegant body tight,Letting go of every worry,May not a single second hurry... I wish I may,I wish I might,Keep you close throughout the night,Wind may sing and sky may storm,May we keep each other warm...I wish I may,I might,Make love to you in candlelight,Tender touches all night long,May we dance to moonlight's song...I wish I may,I wish I might,With every word that I write,May every stroke of this pen,Guide you to my arms again...

Just To Thank You-Into the secluded, barely lit space of my mind,You entered my world objectively,Bringing life and light to it,Very beautiful words, simply breath-taking.The wittiness and charming personality,And with merciful care you added warmth to my life.Vivid images of scenarios you paint for me,I look upon them kindheartedly.Being thankful and appreciative That our friendship has become a part of universe Now has its special place, within my mind, body and soul.Remembering just how drab my world had been,I have to thank you for the bright light,my friend.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

Wishes--If you had your heart's desire For a solitary day What wishes would you wish for? What longings would you pray? If you rubbed a magic lantern And a genie would appear To what desired wishes Would you want to have so near? If wizards could grant wishes And for you they'd cast a spell What dreams would you require? What visions would they tell? If wishes were as diamonds A treasure chest you'd find Of hopes and lost desires Of hearts that were unkind Tonight speak out my name love In the ever darkest night I'll gladly grant your wishes For my soul seeks out your plight I'd take your gentle wishes And one,by one you'll see Your heart will fill with magic My wish to you from me

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

No Words Are Needed--No words need be spoken You can see it in my eyes,Without me saying a thing You see and realize. No words needed between us I know what you have to say,I see it in your eyes How you touch me in every way.No words need to be to be said When I look deep into you,My heart melt into yours And we fall in love anew.No words are needed When I touch your face And stars explode around us As I lean into your embrace. No words need to be spoken When you press your lips to mine,When for all the stars up in the sky You make our love outshine.Love speaks louder than words And our lives have just begun,No words are ever needed As our souls become as one.

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

To the love of my life..

Always and Forever

I was ready to give up on love
Thought it was impossible to find,
But then I met you
And you made me change my mind.

I love you with everything in me
Heart and Soul,
Without you
I wouldn't be whole.

There are no words in this world
That could ever express,
The way I feel
When your heads upon my chest.

When you touch me
My knees go weak,
I lose my breath
I can hardly speak.

You are my solid rock
You hold me together,
I am yours
Always and Forever!!

I LOVE YOU Eddie Dwight Bennett Junior!!!!

The pain is forever there
The hurt will never leave
The questions run through my head
And I just wonder and doubt
About it all
You hurt me and violated me
I forgive you dad
But that doesn't change anything
What to say now is left unknown
Atleast that is the way it is for now..

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

How could you do it
What was you thinking
I never thought it would be me
Just a kid but hurting so badly
Because you took a peice of me away
That quiet and alful night
I still wonder why
But nothing comes to mind
So i just wonder why

Re: Poets Corner~~FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS!!!

thank you for this poem it hits every point!!

Death and the D.A.R.

She was the rich lady even President of the D.A.R.We,the down trodden, assumed that she would live forever as we sought our daily bread, struggled for our bare sustenance, and fought to stay alive. Her mein was of high order her coif and dress impeccable.Yet she was not snobbish, though she must have been aware of our low key envy. We were stunned when death claimed her.

And yet today, who remembers her almost famous name? Those who glance at her chapbook, perchance, taking it from their stodgy collection of unead books? Her relatives, perhaps?
No.They are also deceased, except a younger sister who lives in the tangles of an ailment called Alzheimers. a disease called dementia,by some. She calls her caretaker Cindy, though her name is Gladys. She has long since forgotten her sisters name and her exalted status as president of the D.A.R.
