There’s a marriage on the GRO index for a Roy L. Mitchell to a Sandra Moore.
If you look on the Sheffield Forum site and enter Roy Mitchell into the search box it brings up a thread “Mitchell family from Botham street” which mentions a Roy Mitchell with a wife Sandra. If that’s the right man the thread gives a few details about him.

The GRO index has a birth registered for a Roy L. Mitchell in Q1 1940 Sheffield. It has mother’s maiden name Jackson. Looking at the other Mitchell births around that time with MMN Jackson it becomes obvious that there were at least two different couples with those surnames. An Arthur Mitchell married a Jessie Evelyn Jackson in Sheffield in 1935, and a Harry Mitchell married Florence Ivy Jackson in 1928. And of course there could be others, the parents might not have married locally. Your best bet is to buy Roys birth certificate. Note there was also a Roy L. Mitchell registered in Q4 1939 with MMN Wilkinson, so you need to be very sure of Roy’s year of birth in order to get the correct one.
If he was the Roy L. Mitchell who married Sandra Moore in 1965, the marriage certificate would give you his fathers name, so you could use that to check that you had the right birth certificate.
