I contacted Bereavement Services today and they informed me the correct details Section D Grave 457 .
There should be 7 people in it I can only find 5 including Mary Lenthall
Thank you for your kind comments re the site.....the team and all our very willing transcribers will be pleased to hear their work is appreciated.
Now to that baby in the grave. I was told many many years ago that if a family had very limited means a stillborn would be placed in a grave were there was no relationship. BUT that was from my grandmothers understanding of the situation.
Darnall Grave 457 in Section D has given me another query The Grave was purchased by Peter Rowney for his 16 month old daughter who was interred in 1915 Peter Rowney died in 1929 and the ownership passed to Florence Riley Rowney (nee Lenthall)
Florence remarried George Lawrence in 1939 he is buried at Burngreave
I still cannot find Florence Riley Lawrence burial place she died in 1955 is it possible it has been mis-transcribed and she is also at Darnall Section D Grave 457
I no longer have the material for Darnall Cemetery which means I can not check your request against the originals.
What you can do from our BURIAL Records is pull up the page with the info you know for Mary Lenthall. No space for the grave number. Make sure you have Darnall for the Cemetery and Section D.
That will bring up Mary's information.
At the bottom of that info you will see where it says: "Find Similar in Same Grave" that will bring up who is in Grave 457 irrespective of names.
BUT when I checked both FreeBMD & the GRO Florence does not appear for the time frame you gave us.(1955)
Could you check that out please.
