Looing for Mary Jane Sellers nee Haywood

Hello wondering if anyone can help me. I am looking for the resting place of my great grandmother Mary Jane Sellers nee Haywood. Mary Jane passed away in Worksop in Jan or Feb 1958 and I have not been able to find her final resting place, it may be that she was cremated. She was living with her youngest daughter Doris and her son in law Edgar Carbury. Doris and Edgar later emigrated to Australia after Mary Jane passed, and had lovely stained glass windows made in their local parish church dedicated to her memory. Does anyone have any ideas how I can track down where she is buried? I have looked on ancestry, find my past, and Find a Grave without success. Her son Ernest died in 1938 and is buried in Abby Lane Cemetery. Her husband Joe died in 1908, and is interred at Norton Cemetery, with his parents, daughter in law and granddaughter.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Joe played football for Lockwood Bros and if anyone has any information about the wonderful works team, maybe the first works team ever, please forward to me or let me know how I can access it. I have much to do during my stay and not enough time.
kind regards
Helen Sellers McQuie

Haywood or Cartledge?

Re: Looing for Mary Jane Sellers nee Haywood

Hi Helen

So if Mary Jane died in Worksop she could be buried/cremated in either the Sheffield or Worksop/Nottinghamshire areas.

For Sheffield you could start with contacting City Road Bereavement Services.

Tel (0114) 239 6068

They look after all the municipal cemeteries and Crematoria and should be able to tell if/where she is.

For Worksop/Nottinghamshire there's this site run by Bassetlaw Council

As far as Lockwood Bros is concerned you may be better posting on Sheffield Forum website as that reaches a wider Sheffield population.

Oops sorry, Mary Jane sellers nee Cartledge.

Re: Looing for Mary Jane Sellers nee Haywood

Have you found where Doris was living in 1939 ? That could give you a clue.

You could also try and find Doris leaving for Australia on the passenger lists as I think they had to put an address on there.

Re: Looing for Mary Jane Sellers nee Haywood

Hi John, in 1939 Mary Jane was at 228 Warminster Rd, Sheffield with a Joyce M. Driver.
Doris Carbury was also listed at that address but her name was crossed out, with a note “see page 21.”
