hello, I am hoping you can help me, I am visiting from Australia and hoping to find the graves of my ancestors. Some are buried together in Grave 41, section V1 in Norton Cemetery. I went to Norton Cemetery yesterday afternoon and could not find the grave. Can someone help me understand how the cemetery is laid out. I am unsure how to tell which is section V1, I was in the right area but not sure how it is laid out. are the numbers in rows and which way do they run. Any help would be much appreciated.
kind regards Helen McQuie.
If you go the menu on the left and select 'Burial Records. At the top of the Burials page you'll see some smaller 'menu' options. Select 'Maps'.
Once in Maps if you scroll down you'll see a set of maps for Norton.
If you have any trouble please come back directly to me.
Thank you I wonder if I would ever have thought to read the page. Thank you. I will pop back to the cemetery tomorrow armed with this new information and find my ancestors resting place.
Cheers Helen
Thanks to everyone that answered my query, I have located my Sellers ancestors in Norton Cemetery, still looking for Ernest Sellers in Abbey Lane Cemetery. He is in section P Grave 10400. Is there a map of the graves layout for Abbey Lane. I couldn't figure out which way it runs. Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
Helen Sellers McQuie
Just be cautious with Abbey Lane as there are two section P areas, one for general section and one for consecrated section, not sure which section 10400 is in though.
look on the burials on the left and it will tell you and here is also a map showing the section areas.
