Re: incorrect info re a burial

Hi Christina

You can email Elaine at

sheffieldindexers44@gmail.com

Bear in mind that we transcribe from Burial records, so if information given to the church at the time and recorded in the original Burial Register is incorrect we can't change the transcription itself but we can add a note with the correct details.

Re: incorrect info re a burial (Edited by Author)

Hi Denise
I would be grateful if a note could be added correcting the post on Indexers. According to the death cert of which I have a copy. The info states she died on the 26 April 1916 in the Sheffield Union Hospital NOT as shown on indexers 11 Ardmore Street was her home address. The cert does not help me as I wrongly presumed she died as a result of complications after giving birth in Nov 1915.
The baby is also a mystery I have found his birth and baptism but nothing more till he marries in 1939 where was he for the 24 missing years who brought him up etc. This is not your problem but thanks for all your help
Regards Christina

Hi Christina,

If you could give her name age and address. That would help.

Re: incorrect info re a burial

Hi Dave,

I was trying to have Christina supply us with ALL relevant information to help with her query. She has not done so as of five mins ago.

However from your sleuthing this transcription was completed by Friends of Burngreave Cemetery and that is where she needs to start. Christine at Friends of Burngreave will let me know if I need to change our data or not.

Sooooo. Christina you need to check with.....chris.burngreave@blueyonder.co.uk

Fingers crossed.

Re: incorrect info re a burial

Christina, in reply to your question:
"The baby is also a mystery I have found his birth and baptism but nothing more till he marries in 1939 where was he for the 24 missing years who brought him up etc".

Herbert Berriman was born November 1915 mmn Kitson. His mother Mary Ellen Kitson (died 1916) had a brother William H Kitson who is on the 1921 Census age 47 at 63 Surbiton Street. With him are a "wife" Sarah Kitson, 48, (cannot find their marriage) and 2 children Jessie Kitson age 13yrs 2 months and HERBERT KITSON age 5 yrs and 6 months. This means he was born November 1915. There is NO birth record for a Herbert Kitson born 1915 in q4.
This has to be your Herbert Berriman. Presumably he was ad hoc "adopted" by William and Sarah as a baby.
Dave

PS William Kitson was still at 63 Surbiton Street in 1936 when he died age 60
