Delicate subject this I know but there is a family headstone in Norton Cemetery so of the inscription is visible and some not so, however I do not know because of the grime etc it more of the inscription is there or if the letters have erroded away being that its over 120 years old.
what is the best equipment and solution to use. I would love to see if anymore of the inscription is visble but at the same time don't want to damage the stone.
Hi
By no means an expert but I would suggest caution and seek expert advice before doing anything.
I would check with a friendly headstone maker for advice after checking if the monument is stone or marble.
Have you checked if the Inscription has been transcribed by checking elsewhere on the site?
It may also be worthwhile posting the details of the plot in case anyone has previously taken pictures!
Best of luck
