Am just being a nosey so and so more than owt else. My family tree Sheffield section looks at the Burgin family from one of the Court's on South Street. William, the dad, didn't seem to know when to stop and he and Betsy - his second missis - had quite a few children, including my gran.
Anyway, re: the nosey bit, I just wondered if I had any relatives on here searching back who might be interested in saying hello? Most of the Burgin kids were lasses so it's likely the family name didn't go on for long.
Hi Terry, I am also trying to find out about my Burgin family, it turns out through DNA testing via Ancestry my Great grandfather was not James Foster but possible a Arthur/Allen Burgin, he used the 2 names interchangeably for some reason,I definitely have Burgin blood in me either way.
Edith Alice Burgin, Harold Burgin, Samuel Burgin, Albert Oswald Burgin, all from the early 1900s. who all his siblings
I know the Burgin name is huge in Sheffield though. i hear they were based in the lowfields area, or lister street, these are just names I have heard about.
