I wonder if someone could help clarify something please.
On the 1881 census there is a Charlotte Alice Hancock aged 7 living with her parents Annie Elizabeth Hancock and George Hancock (if you look at the census George is on the page before)
I believe her parents are George Henry Hancock and Ann Henson.
Now the confusion arises because when I look at the GRO for her birth the only one born Sheffield is just a Charlotte Hancock born in 1872 (no Alice and 2 years earlier)
Do you think these are the same person and could she have been baptised with Alice added (not found this yet) and do you also think this is the same person that died in 1891 and unmarried?
The main connection in this family is Annie Elizabeth Hancock born 1865 who married William Henry Sharman in 1883.
Is there a possibility that the Annie Elizabeth Hancock Ive found on the 1881 census is not the one that married William Henry Sharman? I do know that the maiden name of her mother is Henson.
Perhaps its another senior moment I am having so if so apologies.

Anyway looking on the 1881 census I think I can see the problem, Charlotte Alice was in fact two different children as if you go onto the GRO index there is Charlotte born 1872 and an Alice born 1874 I reckon the enumerator did not realise this.

PS I take it that the people you listed were those living at the house on the day of the marriage is that correct?
No both messages have mingled into one. The first is the marriage in 1883 with George henry as father of the bride. and the second is the 1871 census containing annie elizabeth Hancock you were looking for.
