Baptism date ( September 2 1872 ) is before the date of birth ( June 22 1873 )

Hi Roger,

It seems its the birth year this is incorrect.

I no longer have the orginals but FMP shows that the baptism is correct. (1873)

This could be the birth reg in Barnsley.

The GRO gives us the following.
FIDLER, WILLIAM "NORRIS"
GRO Reference: 1873 J Quarter in BARNSLEY UNION Volume 09C Page 156

Does that look correct.

I will take it that the birth year should be 1872

So it looks like the baptism year is wrong.

And FMP says that the BAptism date was 2 SEPT 1873 so the baptism year given on this site (2 Sept 1872) must be erroneous.

The baptisms transcription that we covered is.

FIDLER, William (of Walkley, born 1873-06-22).
Baptised September 2, 1872, by T Rigby at St George, Brook Hill.
Parents name(s) are Harriet & Robert (Silver Stamper).

I will certainly change the baptismal year to 1873.
