Griffon Crash- Tiger Connection

As you may or may not be aware, the recent crash of a Canadian Forces Griffon helicopter in Goose Bay, Labrador cost the lives of two fine Canadian Pilots, Captains Juli-Ann Mackenzie and Colin Sonoski. There was two survivors, the Flight Engineer, David Pawulski and SAR specialist Sgt Mario Michaud, both recovering in hospital in St John's NFLD.

The Tiger connection in this sad tale of events is that the Search and Rescue specialist severly injured in this ill-fated mission was 439 squadron`s own Sgt Mario Michaud, who was on temporary duty assisting 444 Squadron at the time.

From what little details I know, it appears that Mario is in rough shape and so our prayers and hopes go out to him and his family fo a speedy recovery.

Any Tiger who would like to send Mario words of encouragement can do so by contacting the undersigned or contacting 439 Squadron directly, C/O Commanding Officier, 439 Combat Support Squadron, CFB Bagotville, Alouette, Qc G0V 1A0.

This Tiger sends his hopes and prayers to the families of Captains Juli-Ann Mackenzie and Colin Sonoski and to David Pawulski and Mario Michaud and their families, our hopes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Tiger Tiger, Mario.
