Will Forte tells Solomons' story

NEW YORK, Sept. 2 (UPI) --

American actor Will Forte, whose film "The Brothers Solomon" hits theaters Friday, says his comic sensibility was born from necessity.

"I started out with very limited acting skills," Forte, who started his career in the infamous L.A. troupe The Groundlings, revealed to the New York Post. "So I'd need to come up with different enough premises so that my characters, which were all kind of the same, would seem a little different."

A good example is "The Brothers Solomon," starring Forte and Will Arnett.

The actors play brothers raised without any sense of appropriate social interaction and lacking in smarts. They learn their father is dying and decide to try to provide him with a grandchild, leading to comical situations such as Arnett publicly proposing to a woman on a blind date.

Forte developed John and Dean Solomon 10 years ago for a sitcom, but reportedly did not know who could play John until he met Arnett, who is married to SNL's Amy Poehler, the Post said.
