Other use of Cell-Phones

Aside from sending and receiving calls, cell phones has other important use that could save your life or as a tool for survival in case of emergencies:

1. During Emergencies: The Emergency Number worldwide of Mobile is 112. In case you are out of the coverage area of your mobile network dial 112 and mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you. And you could dial it even if the keypad is locked.

2. Ignition key is locked inside your car. If your car has is remote keyless entry and you have locked your key inside the car and you have a spare key at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from you cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person in your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. This will save time to have somebody drive the key to you. This procedure is possible even if you are hundreds of miles away. If you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors or even the trunk.

3. Low battery power. If your cell battery is very low, you can activate if by pressing the keys *3370#. It will restart with the reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. The reserve will be recharged the next time you will charge your battery.

4. Disabling a Stolen Mobile Phone. Check your mobile phone’s serial number. Then key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #. A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. Write down and keep it in a safe place. If your phone is stolen, call the service provider and give them the code. They will then be able to block your handset even if the thief changes the SIM CARD. Your phone will be totally useless. Even if you could not get back your phone the thief can not use or sell it anymore. In this case, it will discourage hold uppers from stealing or grabbing your mobile phones.
