PDF file

I have uploaded a PDF file into File Manager but cannot figure out how put it into a link the website. I use Wizard.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Nathan

Re: PDF file

Having looked at your website I cannot think why you can't do it because you have a lot of links etc there.
I have never used wizard though so can't help

Someone will know though

Re: PDF file

I think the problem you have is probably that you are looking for some Wizardly way to do this, since that is how you work with your own html-pages and images.

But you just create the kind of link you have to many external pages. For instance, you link to a story at
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/

You link in exactly the same way to
http://stockportlibdems.com/whatever.pdf

Re: PDF file

Hi Corwings,

Done that but now getting 404 file not found after clicking the link. Sure it must be something and nothing, any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Nathan

Re: PDF file

Yes.
You are linking to a file called (according to your page)
Tiddles%20SKMBT_C45009072011260.pdf%20
There is no such format as .pdf%20

Try instead to link to http://stockportlibdems.com/Tiddles%20SKMBT_C45009072011260.pdf

Re: PDF file

Thanks corwings,

I tried that but it did the same thing so I saved the file with a different name and that did the trick. Still needed the help so many thanks,

Nathan

Re: PDF file

%20 is how a blank space is represented in a link. Picking up leading or trailing blank characters is a common problem when copying links, always look carefully at where the cursor ends up and backspace if there is a gap where you don't expect it.

Re: PDF file

OK Peter,

Any knowledge is good knowledge to have.

Thanks,

Nathan
