.htaccess file

I have a very dynamic website. However, the use of keywords in your URL is becoming more important to the Google-Bot and others. I am currently researching mod_rewrite and it is fairly complicated. Therefore, I am attempting to do a simple mod_rewrite in an .htaccess file for a single page. I am then going to use .php to generate the "SLUGS" for all of my pages.

I created the .htaccess file without issue. Then, I entered a a code in the .htaccess file similar to the following following:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^alice.html$ bob.html

This should have changed the URL display in the browser from alice.html to bob.html However, there was no change to the URL address and the white page didn't show up either.

Does Bravenet even support mod_rewrite?

Re: .htaccess file

A specific question like that is best raised through a support ticket.
