Re: Re: re: vacation days (Wim's point)

Hi Wim,

I only take one 30 days. Only in December.

I don't know if they still do this but it used to be that in some companies they gave 2 weeks vacation, as an example. If an employee would take the vacation in the off season when it was not very busy they would give them 3 weeks paid vacation instead of the 2 weeks.

With construction jobs you have to work in the summer. The vacation is in the months when it's too cold to work. Assembly lines for cars the vacation for the workers is when the line is closed down for a model year change. Probably a month or so in July or August. The ones who work on the changeover get their vacation at a different time. Some of the financial institutions prefer the employees don't take vacation between December and the middle of March because of the retirement plan business if they work in that area. The tax cutoff for the year is the end of February. Telephone Call centers for heating utilities need more employees during heating season and less employees during the summer months.

It's hard to guess when a person might have to take vacation.
