Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: New Games Screen Layout

Hi Gary

My point is that if a player doesn't get the notification his opponent has used more than 40 days, without the timestamps he misses the opportunity to claim the game.

I understand what you are saying. The time stamps is another way of keeping track of your opponents' reflection time per move, which is not subject to being unreliable, such as these notifications are.

For some reason not all the notifications from the server are being delivered.

Yes, but this probably has a more to do with a player's ISP with their spam blocking and anti-virus program policies and the fact that emails go astray from time to time. With the new feature at the ICCF server both players in a game, along with the TD are now supposed to be receiving these notifications, given no problems in cyberspace and ISP spam blocking policy, etc.

Not to lose track of the main point, I think the previous screen layout was nicer than the new one. In my opinion, they got it right the first time.

The old layout was fine to me too, but I kind of like many of the new features of the new layout. I have no problem with it, even the need to scroll. Making the diagram larger to say 40+ solves the need to scroll fairly well. But as Franklin states this is only a temporary fix. I'm sure there will be more fine tuning in the Phase-3 upgrades. The ICCF server is still not a finished product yet and we have to keep this in mind.
