Club triathlon - Portrunny.

Hi all, just a quick note in relation to our own club event which takes place end of august in Portrunny.

As per last years event, we expect that as many of our members as possible will make themselves available to assist in the running of the event on the day, an in the lead up to the event as required.

Adrian Dolan is our race director, and he will be making note of volunteers in the coming weeks, so contact him if you are available.

On line entries will be available shortly. We expect that a number of our own members will will want to compete in this event, and we are happy to facilitate those members.
However, I would ask the following -

1 - Members that raced last year be involved in helping out this year. This will allow last years volunteers take part this year if they wish.

2 - Anybody racing this year should have somebody else in their place to assist in running the event on the day. i.e to marshall, do registration etc.

We do not want a situation where we find ourselves short of help on the day, and the potential for the event to go badly, SO PLEASE help out if you can.

Finally, we are also toying with the idea of putting on a marshalls event the evening before.
This will be an unofficial event, a training race in effect, but will give those volunteers a chance to stretch the legs and have some fun that weekend.
We will let you know as soon as we finalise things.

Keep up the good training, and good luck to those competing in Athy next weekend.

See you all when I get back from holidays.

Mick.
