Intervarsities Triathlon

INTERVARSITIES

The Irish Intervarsities Triathlon will be held alongside the Lough Neagh Triathlon on 30th July 2011. This event is open to students and staff from all universities across Ireland, and to all those who graduated from university in July 2010. Prizes for top 3 male, top 3 female competitors and the best relay team. For more information contact Queen’s Triathlon Club at triathlon@qub.ac.uk. Enter race here.

I hope to have some form of an AIT team entered. It would be great to get others attached to different colleges/institutes/universities entered also.

Re: Intervarsities Triathlon

Information from Queens University Tri Club

Hi Gordon,

The intervarsities are open to staff and students enrolled at any university on Ireland and anyone who graduated last year from univeristies in Ireland. They take place in conjunction with the Lough Neagh Triathlon in Ballyronan, Derry, on 30th July. The triathlon is on closed roads and is also the national championships race for this season. It is an Olympic distance event so it is 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10k run. There will be prizes for the first, second and third for both male and female competitors and a prize for the best relay team. Entry for the race can be found at:

http://www.loughneaghtri.com/

To compete in the intervarsities just put the name of the university you wish to compete for when asked in the entrance form. Competitors need to hold a one day license or Triathlon Ireland membership before the race so that they covered for insurance purposes. These can be obtained from the triathlon ireland website:

http://triathlonireland.com/

I've attached a flier about the event.

I hope this helps.
Regards,
Peter
