Hi wondered if you could help solve a family mystery . My grandma (Edna Monkman nee dawson ) used to tell me a story about her mum having another baby when grandma was about circa age 11 but the baby died . She said he was buried at the cemetery on Mansfield road intake . The baby I belive was called Bernard Dawson after his father and died a few months old . It’s a complete mystery as I can’t find any death records - any help greatly appreciated .

If you look at our burials records over to the left, and search on Bernard Gordon Dawson, that might be him.

Oh wow I can see the name now , the age would tie into the story how would I see who the grave owner was and is anyone else in the grave too ? Thank you for getting me started I am most grateful . His mothers name was Catherine Nee Dawson or Edith Catherine does that help - I hope we have found him as my dad never knew where the grave was - super excited x

I can see the grave is at city road cemetery reference C3 number 3983. How would I find out if anyone else is interred within the same grave number please ? Just need to check the mothers name and if this is a match I think we have found the lost family baby ❤️

The GRO birth index has a Bernard G. Dawson, birth registered Q2 1925 Sheffield.
MMN is Mannifield.

The birth certificate would show her Christian names. There is a marriage record, Q4 1911 Sheffield for a Bernard Dawson and an Edith C. Manifield.
