My name is Father Christoforos Dymiotis,
Priest-in-Charge of the Greek Orthodox Community of Sheffield.
I am writing to kindly request your assistance in locating the burial place of the Cypriot artist Christoforos Savva, who passed away in Sheffield on 13 July 1968.
We are conducting historical and cultural research within our community, and it would be greatly helpful to know whether he was buried in one of the cemeteries under your management, or if any records exist regarding his final resting place.
Details known:
Full name: Christoforos Savva
Date of death: 13 July 1968
Place of death (as known): Sheffield, England
Approximate year of birth: 1924
If additional information is required to complete the search, I would be happy to provide it.
Please also advise if there are any fees associated with searching the records or providing official confirmation.
Thank you very much for your kind assistance.
Kind regards,
Father Christoforos Dymiotis
Priest-in-Charge
Greek Orthodox Community of Sheffield
His death cert may be worth purchasing. Apparently his death was sudden and he had only been in Sheffield for a very short time. Just a few weeks earlier he had been displaying his works in Venice and before that he was in Cyprus

Nothing found by me at Family Search / Ancestry / FindMyPast other than the statutory death record.
The Hellenic Centre in London held an exhibition of his work in 2022-2023. I believe Savva was London based, so the funeral etc may have been there. The Hellenic Centre might have the information sought, or be able to refer you to an appropriate person.
Ghika Savva is a daughter.

A Google search will show potential opportunities for contact.
Throughout the 1960s Savva was based in Cyprus but frequently travelled afar to various exhibitions.
The following is a quote from that document
"To what extent he would have explored further this new side of his work,69 or toward which new directions he would have developed, have remained unanswered questions, due to his untimely death. Originally he had intended, after leaving Venice, to travel elsewhere in Europe in order to visit some exhibitions (among which, the Documenta in Kassel), BEFORE GOING TO THE UK TO MEET WITH HIS WIFE (WHO WAS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH TO THEIR SECOND CHILD). He felt terribly tired however, so he went directly to England, where he died (of a heart attack) in Sheffield on July 13, at the age of forty four."
NOTE from Free BMD his son was born in Sheffield in July 1968. Of course I have not named him here

Have you replied to the father with a summary of what people have found/are suggesting, or have you asked the father to come on to the forum to get any information?
