I've followed Maurice (Morris) b 1829 through the censuses and in 1841 he is living with parents James and Ann at Trafalgar St. James is a file smith. James and Ann were married on 23rd Dec 1823, however there is an Eliza who was born 1816. Not sure of the age of Sarah 10/16/18.
I've not been able to find any baptisms for the children either. I believe Maurice had another sister, Charlotte b around 1821 as I found an article in the newspaper about her.
I'm trying to draw up a family tree but it's proving a bit difficult. Any help would be appreciated.
Louisa’s first husband, Joseph Holmes, was a miner. If you look over to the burial records on this site, there’s one for a Joseph Holmes, collier, in 1869. If that was him it might explain the second wedding? She could have jumped the gun by saying she was a widow in 1866 and then got herself a “legal” marriage certificate in 1871?
There's the possibility the children weren't baptised until adults/prior to any marriages. So you might want to try tracing all the childrens marriages and work backwards. If you haven't already!
Also on a later census it has Lewis down as being born in Derbyshire?
when Louisa married in 1866 she had the middle name Farrar, is it therefore possible that she dropped the Farrer at some point and the second marriage was because she was now know as Louisa Holmes
