Finally, we are heading to Sheffield to discover the place of my fathers' birth. We are hoping to visit Wisewood Cemetery. Does anyone know if there are any online records (free or otherwise) which record who is buried in a particular plot? I have checked Find a Grave where just one name is listed. I have checked this site too and have found four names listed. I am just wondering if there is anywhere else I could be looking for information. TIA. Jo
Further to my request above I have noticed that one of the entries for the plot has a comment of 'Hutcliffe Wood No.9514'. Does anyone know what this might refer to? Thanks again

Hi Jo
This is just a guess but Hutcliffe Wood is a crematorium. No.9514 could be the cremation number and then the ashes were interred in the plot at Wisewood.
You could check with Bereavement Services at City Road who should be able to tell you if that relates to a cremation.
Thanks for the response. I will give bereavement services a call but your explanation seems very plausible. They might however be able to help me with finding out who else has been laid to rest in the plot I am interested in. Thank again. Regards Jo
If you look over to the Burial Records to the left you will see we have covered Wisewood. If you are still having a problem Denise's suggestion is spot on.
Covered dates. Wisewood Cemetery, Sheffield -Jan 26, 1933 to Feb 1, 1996 (*6)
Thank you for the suggestion. I have checked the burials on this site and have discovered four burials in the plot I am looking at which is great. I was just wondering if the information on this site is a complete record or whether there might be information held elsewhere. For instance, records after 1996...
Hi John
Thanks for your response.
I am not looking for anyone specific, I am looking for anyone buried in a specific plot. So far I have found four people with three different surnames; therefore in this instance a name won't be very helpful.

Jo
