Eli went into Bakewell Workhouse when he was young His Brother and Sister all came to Sheffield when they left the Workhouse.

I have every census from 1861 until he dies except the 1881. I have looked and looked has anyone any clues please.

Also which church was he married in or is there copy of the marriage certificate for that church.

Any help gratefully received.

If you look at our Baptisms under Parish Records and enter Brooks under the surname and Eli in the fathers name box. Three baptisms come up. All in the Attercliffe area.

I will see if I can pin point him further.

Note...
The marriage took place 13 May 1883 at St Barnabas, Highfield.

Both Eli & Lizzy are listed as living on Abbeydale Rd.
Eli's father is Anthony Brooks and Lizzy's John Burton.

No record on FMP for the 1881 census. But could have been recorded under s different spelling.
