PDF GRO Cert

I have just tried ordering a marriage cert from the GRO and find I do not have the option of a PDF format for eight pounds. I do not need the cert have tried for days to find the Brides family with no luck. Hence the request for the pdf format of the marriage cert.

Is this no longer being made availble???

Info. Benjamin Trickett & Emily Hannah W McCoppin
Sep qtr 1877 Barnsley 9c 176.

Elaine.

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Marriage certs have never been available in PDF format.
Dave

Re: PDF GRO Cert

The marriage record is on Ancestry. 29th Sept 1877 St George, Barnsley
Sarah was 16 and father name is blank so presumably illegit.

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Correction, EMILY was 16 and no father name

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Thanks Dave,

I have been banging my head for days trying to find anything on her.

Does Ancestry have anything at all on her please.

FMP only has a (transcript).

Elaine.

PS She was Emily Hannah W not Sarah...... but it does fit. I think she was born around 1861
She's on the 1881 census as being 19.

Further stretch...... A birth.....
March qtr 1862 Barnsley 9c 105 for Hannah Ward McCoppin.Could have added the Emily?????

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Hi Dave,

Who were the marriage witnesses? Any clues there?

Heths

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Elaine, have sent you email
Dave

Heather the witnesses were Alfred Trickett and Elizabeth Clucas

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Dave, that is interesting because an Alfred Trickett married a Mary Jepson McCoppin.
Could Emily be related to Mary...?

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Hi Elaine, You might want to look at John McCoppin 1807 - 1858 married Hannah Hartley 1840 Ecclesfield, She married someone else 1863 Barnsley but cannot find out which there are three females and only two males on the ancestry record. regards Barry

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Hi Heather.

Yes part of the same family but not 100% sure how Emily fits in with Mary but there is certainly Trickett & McCoppin marriages other than the one for Benjamin & Emily.A very uncommon name for a start. I think they originated in Ireland. The 1851 census has them living at the "Shambles" in Barnsley John 34 born Ireland Hannah 32 a weaver from Clayworth Notts. The Tricketts were from Wadsley.

Thanks for your input.

Might have to order that 1862 birth to check it out......

Elaine.

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Thanks Dave,

I was just going to order it.

Now to get all the Trickett & McCoppin ducks lined up and thats another line sorted. Thanks Everyone.

Elaine.

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Hi Barry,

This is what I found......

1841 census. Mortomley Lane End, Ecclesfield.
John Trickett 20 Stove fitter born Yks. as they all were.
Mary aged 25
Susannah aged 2
George aged 1
Alfred 1mth old.

BUT the baptism at Ecclesfield.
8 Jun 1817 TRICKET John.... Benjamin Mary grinder Wadsley

In 1841 they reduced their ages to the nearest "0" or "5".

And there is Alfred ..... Benjamin was named after is grandfather in 1854.

Benj & Emily had a daughter Gertrude Jepson Trickett who married Charles Edward Wilson of Grenoside.

And thats my connection.

Elaine.

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Baptism on Ancestry, at Barnsley, St John the Baptist.
16 March 1862
Mother = Mary Jepson
Father = W Coppin

The transcript gives Joseph, and the surname McCoppin

Re: PDF GRO Cert

Anne
Baptism on Ancestry, at Barnsley, St John the Baptist.
16 March 1862
Mother = Mary Jepson
Father = W Coppin

The transcript gives Joseph, and the surname McCoppin
That baptism states that the child is Emily Hannah and she is the daughter of Mary Jepson McCoppin and there is no father named.
