Re: Hannah Waters (Rhodes?)

The confusion with the names may be a deliberate attempt to hide the facts since John's marriage to his deceased wife's sister was illegal.

Re: Hannah Waters (Rhodes?)

A James Walters married Hannah Rhodes in 1854 and James died in 1856 age 23. I suspect that James was Brother of John, so the 1860 marriage of John to Hannah would be illegal twice over because John was marrying his deceased brother's widow. It looks like the names were correct but the deceit was saying Spinster not Widow.
