Hi,
I have been working on my family Samuel and Elizabeth Ellis. I believe Hannah Ellis was their first child, and she was born in August of 1816 and baptized in 16 October of 1816. All of their children were baptized with the "Abode" stated as Sheffield, so no street.
I have tried to find Samuel & Elizabeth's marriage but can't seem to find it.
Samuel was born about 1796 and Elizabeth was born about 1792. I would have thought that they would have been married in Sheffield sometime between 1812 and 1815. Samuel's profession was listed as: "Silver Plater" for their first 3 children. "Metalsmith" for their 4th child. "Brazier" for their 5th child. "Silver Plater" for their 6th and "Plater" for their 7th
The 1841 Census shows them living in Sheffield. The 1851 Census shows Samuel born in Yorkshire and Elizabeth born in Sheffield Yorkshire so I thought I should be able to find it in the Marriage records on your site.
Does anyone have any ideas of where I might find their marriage record?
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Laurie Martinez :)
I am having trouble finding them on the 1841 & 1851 census.
I have spotted them in 1871 living High St Lane, Park. St John`s the Parish Church.
Samuels place of birth is listed as Drypool and he is a silversmith. aged 75
Elizabeth 73 and born in Sheffield aged 73.
