Am looking for any information to help me start my family tree

These two ladies are mother and daughter Lilian was born 1904
Sandra was born in 1943 Sheffield don't know anything else
Have been told Sandra could be recently deceased

First do you know of FreeBMD.......https://www.freebmd.org.uk/

and the General Register Office (GRO)
.....https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

From the GRO index there is only one Sandra Moore born in 1943 in the Sheffield area. Sheffield 9c 669 MMN of Gregory.

Is that the right person.

With the little bit of information Gregory was Lilian's maiden name
So yes this is the right one

OK so now..... Use FreeBMD......

Enter Lilian Gregory and the spouses surname Moore
Sheffield and area is 9c
estimate when you think they might have married. Its quite some time before 1943.

To give you a hint.... Sheffield 9c 879. If you click on the number (879) it will bring up the partners full name of Moore.

You will need access to the 1911 census for more on Lilian. Do you have that?

Another site Family Search does have some Census material for Sheffield.

Susan, when you say she may have died recently do you mean within the last year?
The gro index allows you to find all England and Wales deaths up to and including 2021 but anything more recent you will have to wait a while. I believe it will be updated to cover 2022 some time around the first few months of 2023.
There is no death of a Sandra Moore with birthday 1943 showing between 2017 and 2021.

Adding to Barry's find..Lilian Gregory B.1904.. mmn was Mirfin... An Annie Mirfin married Henry Gregory in 1900 Mar.qtr in Wortley district. They had a possible 6 children born between 1900 and 1915..Mary, Annice, Lilian, William Henry, Gladys and John Willie.
The Mary Mirfin B:1845 could have been Lilian's Grandmother.. or Great Granny??

On Family Search website there are a couple of linked birth/death records:
a) Sandra Moor born 22nd Oct/1943
died 2003 Dec qtr. Hull

b) Sandra Barron born 22/Oct/1943
died 4th Sept/2003 Sheffield

I cannot find a marriage between Moor(e)/Barron, unless it was a 2nd marriage for Sandra..??

So Sandra's surname would be Mitchell
We're would I look for information to see if she has recently died

There is as he has suggested the possibility that this couple are still alive and therefore WE DO NOT POST information on the Forum.

Susan. I would check with Sheffield Archives re a recent date of death.2021+

Most of the material we look at are the places that I mentioned to you in an earlier message i.e. FreeBMD & the GRO. (1837-2021) YOU can do this yourself.
