I am trying to track down any descendants of Robert Holmes (dob 14.2.1869) who was Sheffield's first probation officer and a published author.
I know from the 1939 census that he was living at 14 Montgomery Road, Sharrow, Sheffield with his wife Mary Ann Holmes and that they had at some stage lived at 13 Priory Rd, Sheffield.
I also know from the 1911 census that they had two sons - Harold Thomas Holmes (no dates) and Cecil Robert Holmes (1903 -1959) who married Helena Beatrice Clarke (1900-1991) in Ecclesall Bierlaw in 1931.
Hopefully, someone might know of what became of the family.
