Re: Possible transcription error - John Henry Harrop
You can be confident that the baptismal record is correct. The transcriptions for John Henry & Jessie "Harrob" match the register image here (image 171):
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89PH-7SQ8-X?i=170&cat=81530
And from https://www.gro.gov.uk/ there is this in the deaths index:
HARROP, JOHN HENRY 1
GRO Reference: 1868 D Quarter in SHEFFIELD Volume 09C Page 229
And then there is in the births index
HARROP, JOHN HENRY BARNSLEY
GRO Reference: 1867 M Quarter in SHEFFIELD Volume 09C Page 323
and
HARROP, JESSIE BARNSLEY
GRO Reference: 1865 M Quarter in SHEFFIELD Volume 09C Page 319
Indeed, a mystery. Any chance the 1869 baptism was for a 2nd child given the same name?
Re: Possible transcription error - John Henry Harrop
The GROIndex has a birth reg in Q4 1868 for Arthur Harrop mmn Barnsley.
Presumably he is the child baptised John Henry in 1869, shortly after the death of his brother John Henry

Re: Possible transcription error - John Henry Harrop
It looks like Arthur Harrop (mmn Barnsley) was birth REGISTERED around the second week of October 1868, so born 1-2 months before the death of his brother John Henry (25th Nov 1868)
