I am trying to find either the burial or cremation of a James smith (my cousins husband”)
He I believe died in 1988

1939 census said he was a heavy worker, swing grinder in a steel works
Originally married to my cousin Florence whittaker
Did James die in Sheffield as if so then the nearest death I can find is 1985 . That is however is using a birth year of 1915 but the 1939 register was notoriously wrong on years. Have you found him on the 1921 census?
John I looked up other family members, they have his date of birth as 1915
Father James smith 1886-1974
Mother sarah Ellen godbehere 1889-1971
