I have seen a baptism referencing S Albans Terrace.
Was there a St Albans Terrace in 1878?
If so, was it near present-day St Albans Road/Drive/Close?
Thank you.
The existing streets are not connected with this terrace, which was in Upperthorpe (the street of that name). One of the baptisms on this site has an address '59 St Albans Terr Upperthorpe'. The same family is living at '59 Upperthorpe' in the 1881 census.
From this and a sale advert from 1885 I think the terrace consisted of five houses, numbers 57-65. They are shown on a 1952 OS map at https://www.sheffieldhistory.co.uk but have since been replaced by modern housing.
One of the burial records on this site indicates that St Albans Terrace was somewhere the Upperthorpe area.
It wouldn’t have been where St Albans Rd etc now are. Before Hassels built those houses in the early 60’s there were just fields between Crimicar Lane and Hallam Grange Rise.
