Trying to clarify birth & correct mother for Jonathan Crookes-Hague. All census seem to give his birth as 1871/2 Oughtibridge and that he married Amelia Dronfield Gregory but freebmd & GRO don't seem to be showing his birth record. I have Parents as James Hague & Mary Ann Crookes? But there marriage was not untill 1875 ? Any help appreciated.

Could his birth be registered as just Crookes?

Jonathan Crookes son of Marianne of Wharncliffe Side, spinster.

There is a Jonathan Hague 10 July 1871 & Jonathan Crookes-Hague 28 July 1911 on the 1939 living at 68 Orchard St, so assuming father & son and correct family.

Just located the baptism record on family search and it does give Marianne Crookes as mother. So assuming Jonathan took the Hague name after Marianne (Mary Ann) & James Hague married in 1875. Still not sure if James is the father. Many thanks for the info.
