Hi the bereavment services have said it is acceptable with it being wooden.

I am just checking it out with my brother as he organized a granit slab at Crookes Cemetery for our grandparents.

The rulings seem to be much more relaxed than when I started looking into it way back.

Have heard back from my brother and the stone mason he used only looks after stone. BUT he said there are many suggestions on the internet.
