Mary Elizabeth Roebuck (nee Chambers)

After researching my family for many decades on and off I have failed to locate my grandmother - (the above name) after the death of her son William Dronfield Roebuck in 1916.
My father was born in Nov 1915 and was adopted out of this family.

The Roebucks were living in Adelphi Street in 1915.

I hope you can assist.

Her family were Chambers fish and game dealers and any info re this company/shops in Chesterfield road etc.

Cheers
Roger Townsend

Re: Mary Elizabeth Roebuck (nee Chambers)

Hi Roger

I have found them on the 1911 census but there appears to be some discrepancy.

Are the family at 79 Newman Road in 1911 as they state that they have been married 1 year and have no children.
I have now found the marriage in 1909 at St Bartholomews.

The death registration of William Dronfield Roebuck in 1916 gives his age seven.
His birth registration in Dec Q of 1908 in EB gives his name as William Dronfield Chambers, so obviously born before the marriage, where was he in 1911?

As John Arthur Roebuck is significantly older than Mary did he die and she remarried?
