John Fairest Swain, b 1836? Cabinet case maker. 1871 he is with wife Elizabeth at 11 Court Ship....? 1881 he seems to be a lodger at 32 Silver St and still classed as married. Both census give a different age date. Trying to find him after 1881 or death.

In 1884 john Swain is on the criminal cases for being drunk and disorderly. He is listed as cabinet maker born 1835 so could be him.

There is a article in the Sheffield Daily Telegraph 11 February 1865 regarding an inquiry into the death of Alice Swain aged 3, parents John & Elizabeth Swain. It possible this is my John, would anyone be able to assist with full article.
