They were from Hasland Chesterfield.
Children Thomas b 1760, Robert 1761, James 1763, Susanna 1766, Robert 1768, Mary 1773, Robert 1774, Hannah 1774, John 1776, Elizabeth 1779.

Can anyone help me with the following.
Birth of John and Ann to go back further.
Is Ann's surname Carington or Carrington.
The earliest child found was born 1760 three years after they were married.
Anymore children ?.
Death of john and Ann.

Find my Past have a baptism for a John Widdowson on 27 May 1739 at North Wingfield. Parents are John Widdowson and Pheebe Newton.

There is a baptism at North Wingfield for Phebe Newton on 23 October 1709.

There is a baptism for Ann Carrington at Chesterfield on 17 November 1734, father James Carrington.

Looks like the John Widdowson bapt:27/May/1739 may be the same as the one buried 20th Sept/1739, son of John Widdison & Pheebe Newton (Spurious) at Wingfield. Note: Pheebe also appears as Spurious on the baptism record.

There is also a very extensive Tree on Fam.Search which goes back to the 1500's on the Widdowson side and the 1600's on the Carrington side. This Tree has John's parents as Johannis Widdison(B:1693) married 1719 at Barlow, Chesterfield to Anna Marsh. Also it has John Widdison being born 1731.

It was once said that the Widdowson family were Nordic. I followed the ones you mentioned on that site.
Noticed there are two Nordic names Johannis and Alanus.
The surname has been spelt many different ways on the old records.
