St George's, Brook Hill

Hi all,

Do anyone know of an online resource BMDs for this church, Familysearch seem to suggest they have them online, but I find the site SOOOO difficult to navigate and find what i'm after (if anyone has tips on that, i'm all ears!). The dates i'm after are late 1820's (I think it was built in 1826ish anyway) to c1850.

Thanks muchly

Richard

Re: St George's, Brook Hill

Should have said, I know baptisms are on here, but marriages and burials.

I believe the NBI does cover it, however I would like actual images if possible.

Re: St George's, Brook Hill

Looks like some are on FMP

Re: St George's, Brook Hill

I was just going to say have you tried FMP?

I have noted that a new feature of Family Search shows some actual images.

St George, Portobello Street, Brook Hill, was the first "Million Act" church to be built in Sheffield and was erected between 1821-1825.

You won't find any marriages there before 1848 as the Parish Church of SS Peter & Paul (later cathedral) had the monopoly on marriages, so all marriages before 1848 are at the parish church, or the Register Office after July 1837.
