hi there hoping someone can help I am trying to locate a burial/ cremation record for an ancestor william bennett 1884-1972
His mother and father (father is william bennett 1861-1940 and mother elizabeth) are buried at crookes cemetery sheffield along with Williams wife clara bennett ( nee crosby)
William died 24/ 2/ 1972 aged 87
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi there i have checked on sheffield indexers and can't find a william bennett dying 1972 age 87 I can find his father William on there and mother Elizabeth and his wife clara all buried at crookes although william is on the grave stone there is no record of him buried there thanks again

Do you have his death certificate by any chance....

That might give you a clue.

I wonder if he was cremated and ashes scattered.

William Bennett aged 87 was cremated at City Road Crematorium on 29th February 1972. Bereavement Services can tell you what happened to his cremated remains.Regards Christine.
