the Dimberline family

hi just looking in to the family of
Cyrus Dimberline and have found a burial for him in
Christ church cemetery Attercliffe in section NC
but having looked at the site map there is only section A B C D E
so would he be in section C?

any help would be helpful

thanks Paul Wray

Re: the Dimberline family

Hello Paul

Cyrus is buried in Section D plot 2827 C (Consecrated Ground) he has been transcribed as DUMBERLINE. There seems to be three other burials in the same plot.

DUMBERLINE Cyrus 10 Nov 1881 54 engine fitter 82 Leigh St Attercliffe D2827c
PERCIVAL James 14 Feb 1893 49 iron works stocktaker 125 Industry Rd Attercliffe D2827c
PERCIVAL Martha 24 Feb 1889 38 wife of James 22 Shortridge St Attercliffe D2827c
DIMBERLINE Ann 21 Aug 1897 64 widow 106 Craven's Rd Attercliffe
D2827c.

I have checked my records but there does not appear to be a headstone. The closest plot with a headstone is at plot 2825 with the name of HANSON

Ihere is a map of the cemetery on the Burial record page (link at the top)

Hope this helps

NC = Non-conformist section.

Re: the Dimberline family

Hi Angela

It looks to me like the NC came from the CC Attercliffe burial record transcriptions which as you know can be a little confusing / misleading as the funeral Service most likely took place at the church but the burial was elsewhere. The database seems to default everything to do with CC Attercliffe to NC.

Hope you are OK and your feet are dry this time around.

Tony
