Ecclesfield

on searching my Wifes mothers maiden name ATTWOOD it derived part of a famous Family
Thomas Attwood MP. Birmingham 1832 to 1839 born in Halesowen now West Midlands...
having now researched this for a number of years...There is an entry in a Parish Reg.
St. Mary's Parish Church Kingswinford 1st. May 1797 betwen William Attwood and ALICE
BULLAS Mary bULLAS witness...I think I saw Ecclesfield as where Alice was [ born ] ?
We think the connection between Quarry Bank Kingswinford SHEFFIELD STREET and
Sheffield is Chain and Nail making a large area of both.I was born in Sheffield
and just this street named after Sheffield Thank You

Re: Ecclesfield

Hi Patrick,

I have just had a quick look at the Ecclesfield baptisms and there is an Alice baptised in 1774 father James.
Mary bap 1777 father James.

There are other children born to James if you think this could be to correct family.

Re: Ecclesfield

Hi Patrick,

Have a look at Family search..... There are hundreds of them.

I was using S&DFHS disks when I quoted the two girls baptisms.

This is the last baptism
26 Apl 1835 BULLAS Charles David Anne Labourer Moonshine

1599-1751 = 50
1752-1823 =27
1824-1904 = 1
Spelling is either Bullas- Bullus or Bullos
