Hello All

I am having problems locating members of the above family and where they were buried.

The people I can’t locate are :-

Walter Winfield died 20 Nov 1918 in Ecclesall Bierlow

Mary Ann Whitfield died 17 Sept 1917 in Ecclesall Bierlow

Thomas Winfield died 12 Mar 1956 in Sheffield

Clarissa Rollinson (nee Winfield) died 20 May 1953 in Sheffield

Frederick Winfield died 25 Feb 1977 in Sheffield

I have found Robert Winfield - died 1955 - in City Road Cemetery

I have also found Albert Winfield - died in 1959 - in Abbey Lane

I have tried this wonderful site and findmypast but to no avail

Any help/information will be gratefully received

There are a large number of Winfield's buried in the General Cemetery.

Have you tried looking there? I can't see Walter (he's the only one I looked for.)

Churchyards would be another possibility.

Many of the Indexes we have do not go to the 1950's. Bereavement Services at City Road might be able to help. They look after All the Council owned cemeteries.

Have you got the addresses please where they were when they died. That hopefully will narrow things down a bit.

Walter died at 85 Sherrington Road

Mary Ann ditto

Thomas died at 84 Abbeydale Road, South Millhouses

Clarissa was living at 42 Herschell Road

Frederick was living at 5 Acacia Road

Walter buried 25th Nov 1918 aged 67 Mary Ann (wife of Walter) 10 Sep 1917 aged 62 Thomas 14 Mar 1956 aged 71 hope that helps

Just checking as mis read the second name down you put Whitfield is that who you meant because there is a Mary Ann Whitfield buried in 1910 or was it a typo and should have been winfield.

It was a typo. I meant to say Mary Ann Winfield
